18% of French companies use AI in 2025, three times more than in 2023 — but 71% of those that don't say they see no use for it
According to Insee's 2025 ICT survey (published July 29, 2026), the share of companies using at least one AI technology rose from 6% in 2023 to 10% in 2024 and 18% in 2025. Among companies with fewer than 50 employees it reaches 15%. Of those not using AI, 71% cite no usefulness for the business and 54% a lack of expertise.
The top barrier isn't cost (32%) or ethics (25%): it's usefulness. One in two also cites a lack of expertise, and 38% of non-users mention incompatibility with existing tools, data protection or legal uncertainty. Among companies already using AI the obstacles persist: 53% cite a lack of expertise and 43% concerns about data protection and privacy.
For a domiciliation network, this points to the right way in: not "AI", but one precise, visible task at the front desk — answering mail-pickup, required-documents and opening-hours questions — where usefulness shows within a week in a pilot branch. On data protection the answer is concrete and checkable: hosting in France and a processing contract (GDPR art. 28). And a person at the branch keeps control of every sensitive answer.
For AppH
- The first barrier quantified by public statistics is perceived lack of usefulness: a 90-day pilot in one branch, with a measurable front-desk task, answers that objection directly.
- Data concerns (38% of non-users, 43% of users) back the hosted-in-France and signed art. 28 argument, which are not minor details for a network head.
Against / the honest limit
- The survey covers all companies and sectors: it says nothing about domiciliation specifically, and its application to the Pack Accueil remains AppH's own reading.
- Removing the "usefulness" barrier isn't enough: the lack of expertise (53-54%) calls for real support, and the assistant never decides on identity verification or AML/CFT compliance — that stays with the agent.
When 71% of companies not using AI answer that it is of no use to them, the reply isn't a speech about AI but proof on one precise task, with data in France and a person who stays in control. That more modest approach is what AppH offers domiciliation branches.
