Customer service: Salesforce completes its acquisition of Fin (ex-Intercom), claiming a 76% resolution rate

On 10 September 2026 Salesforce announced it had completed the acquisition of Fin, an AI customer-service agent platform. The resolution figure is the vendor's; what it changes for a domiciliation branch is mostly context.

According to Salesforce's 10 September 2026 press release, the acquisition of Fin (formerly Intercom) is complete. Fin brings a technical team and more than 30,000 customer companies, with an AI agent that answers over chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice and Slack. Salesforce highlights an average resolution rate of 76% and folds Fin into its Agentforce offer, within its AI Labs.

For a domiciliation network the message is twofold. Automated customer service is becoming a big-platform product, with resolution rates used as a sales argument. But these platforms are built for many channels and large accounts: they know nothing of mail collection at a branch, the documents needed for a certificate, or a visitor's journey at the front desk.

For AppH

  • AppH focuses on what these platforms do not cover: the branch front desk through QR and web chat, with the branch's own rules and prices, hosted in France.
  • A person stays in control: the branch approves the rules and takes over as soon as a request goes beyond what was planned.

Against / the honest limit

  • The 76% is an average claimed by the vendor across very different customers; it says nothing about the rate a domiciliation branch would reach, and we have no independent measurement.
  • A large platform has more channels and resources than AppH, which does no telephony or voice and verifies no identity. The choice is about the trade and control, not size.

A resolution rate should be compared on equal scope. What matters to a branch is knowing precisely what the assistant handles and what it leaves to a person.
