E-invoicing one month in: the real job is checking that every invoice arrives

Les Echos Solutions, October 2026: an accountant reviews 1 September 2026 and describes a wave of reassurance questions from clients.

  • One month after 1 September 2026, an accountant quoted by Les Echos Solutions calls the transition "smooth".
  • His most frequent question: "Is my company compliant?"; blockages come from the approved platform, mandates and the SIREN number.
  • For an agency, the load is answering the same reassurance questions fast, with a person for genuine blockages.

On 1 September 2026, every VAT-liable business in France had to be able to receive electronic invoices. A month later, Les Echos Solutions interviews Amine Tber, accountant and founding partner at Excilio. His verdict: nobody was 100% ready, but the information and training done beforehand made for a "rather smooth" transition, and 100% of his clients met the set-up obligations.

The real peak came from questions. After the rules took effect, his firm received many calls asking one simple thing, "is my company compliant?", a need for reassurance. Technical difficulties he cites: portability between approved platforms, mandates, attaching the right platform. He separates "I no longer receive PDFs", which is normal, from "I am not receiving my invoice", which needs checking (SIREN, platform). The next milestone is 2027, with issuing and e-reporting.

For AppH

  • The pattern described is a front desk: the same question dozens of times, at the same moment. An assistant can answer at any hour with information the agency has checked.
  • When a case is out of the ordinary (an invoice genuinely missing, a platform wrongly attached), the request goes to a person at the agency who decides.

Against / the honest limit

  • This is one firm's view of its own clients, not a survey. The figure (100% of clients compliant) is theirs and we have not cross-checked it.
  • An assistant does not replace an accountant or the approved platform: it points people the right way, it does not certify that a company is compliant.

When a reform lands, the work does not vanish: it shifts toward reassurance questions. That is repetitive work a tool can absorb, as long as a human keeps control of the real cases.
