France saw its strongest acceleration in business creation since the start of the year in August 2026 (+6.5% after +0.9% in July), according to Insee (Informations Rapides No. 222, 18 September 2026). In August 2026, business creation accelerated sharply across all types: micro-entrepreneurs +7.3%, standard individual enterprises +7.9%, and company (société) creations rebounded (+3.8% after -1.3% in July). Over the last three months (June-August 2026), 36,100 more businesses were created than a year earlier (+13.1%). The sector contributing most to this rise is business support activities (+12,200 creations, +4.4 points of contribution).
